Hi Guys,
I've made reservations at Arlington Motor Inn (1 mile from the field) for three rooms, 2-beds each, for 5 nights (July 10-15) for $65/night. It's one of the few places that had three rooms open during the Fly-In. I've also reserved a standard sized car with Enterprise in Arlingon.
Chris & Margaret, I know you invited us into your home, but with that big construction job at your house, and you working like heck to stay on schedule, plus we'd be taking over your kids bedrooms again, I really think you're better off without us. And under the circumstances we'd also feel better not imposing on your great hospitality. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean we won't be there to eat you out of house and home.
Hey guys, you can find everything you need to know on Arlington from admission, planes to forums, plus a short brief of our last flight at this link: http://cyberthought.com/tonytex/ with links to Arlington.
Because it's four months away, people, planes and plans are flexible, but here's the "maybe for sure" info I have now. Correct me if needed.
DEPART July 7-8... RETURN July 14-15. That may slip a few days either way due to weather and vectors around places like nudist camps, etc. And like last time, we may again have our fill of planes and airshows and return early for the second half of the real fun stuff... FLYING.
PEOPLE and PLANES: Jim Newport and me in one plane, Mike Gretton and ?? in a 2nd plane, and maybe Chris Claborne and ?? in a 3rd plane and another maybe is Bill Ingram in his Vari-Eze. We'll play it by ear regarding Terry Leininger and Chris Martin. We'll stay flexible.
ROUTE: Maybe Up the Coast and back down the E side of the Cascades. WX will really determine the actual route and the fun stuff is planning the route enroute. Besides, we got to leave time for important stuff, i.e., dip down into Crater Lake, down Columbia River Gorge and circle Mt St Helens. Ya!
Any ideas.... changes.... thoughts.... questions... other planes.... ?
I'll update other items like people, planes etc., as I confirm them.
Best of clear skies and tailwinds,
TONY TEX
