Hi guys,

Well, we did as planned today... a Fly-In to Cable (CCB).

There were seven people in four planes. Chris and Andy flew from MYF in a
C172RG , Dennis flew from SDM in his RV3 , Steve and his son flew from SEE
in a C182 , and Jim and me flew from MYF in a C172 . Quite a mix of planes,
but we all met up there within 10-15 minutes of each other around 1015.

Getting a seat at the restaurant was another matter. Because there was so
much people noise inside, we opted for a seat outside in the patio with
airplane noise. We waited 50 minutes for a seat. Then another 45 minutes to
get our meals. The meal was okay, but on more than one occasion we had to
hunt down the waitress for more coffee. By the time we got out of there it
was 1230. It may be awhile before we fly into that place again.

This Fly-In was nothing spectacular, but just what we needed... a fun time
with lots of hangar flying and chuckles over breakfast. By the way, you have
to ask Dennis how he broke his hand just prior to a "stationary midair
collision" between two of his three planes. It's a good hangar flying story.

NEXT FLY-IN on Sunday, JULY 14th. And of course we'll try for Santa Ynez
(IZA) again. A week or so before we meet, I'll put out an email reminder.
And I believe our Webmaster, Chris Claborne, already has the location, some
routes and other info on IZA on our website:

Best of clear skies and tailwinds,

Tony Tex
