Hi Guys,

There were seven planes and fifteen people that made our Flabob (RIR)

Fly-In on Sun, July 18.

Four planes flew from SEE: a Pits Special with Steve Dari, a Comanche with

Andy and Mike; and a Skymaster with Robert, Kurt and John; and a C172 with
Jeff and Jerry.

Two planes flew from MYF: a C182 with Chris and Bret; and a Skymaster with

Jim and me.

One plane flew from French Valley: a Golden Eagle 421 with Bob Hemme,
David, Kyle, Chuck and Franklin.

It was another great San Diego day.  It was severe clear with smooth air.
It was a perfect day for a fun flight and a gathering with flying friends.
We did some chattering on 123.45, but not much because this was a short
flight and some pilots went to SoCal to transit Charlie Airspace.

The Flabob Airport Cafe was packed, but all 15 of us managed to find
three different booths and squeezed in for brunch. The restaurant is not
going to be remodeled and will keep with it's nostalgic atmosphere. RIR got
a little toasty just before we left at noon, but other than that it didn't
get too hot. However, a couple hours later and the toasty temps would have
risen to oven temps.

Chris Claborne, our webmaster, and Bret Strain took some pictures of the
planes and people at RIR. Chris has his pictures on the website now and
Bret's will follow a little later.

Next Fly-In will be on Aug 15th to Santa Paula (SZP). If temperatures at

SZP are still in the high 90s next month, we'll fly a little further west to
the coast to Camarillo (CMA) where it's 6-7 degrees cooler and Oxnard (OXR)
is 10-15 degrees cooler. More info on this next month.

Best of clear skies and tailwinds,

Tony Tex
