Hello Everyone,

The weather DID NOT cooperate with Our Group's Fly-In to Apple Valley on
Sun, Mar 18. Five planes canceled and I can't say I blamed them. The
forecast was for IFR conditions at MYF, SEE and SDM until 1200. And the
forecast was correct. However, nine people in three planes did get out with
IFR to VFR on top clearances.

Flying out of MYF: Mike Schmied & Chris Claborne in 177RG

Flying out of SEE: Robert Werve, Bob Ridout, Don MacManus and Tera Nishi
in a 337; and Bret & Lisa Strain & Tony Tex in a 172.

Once on top the weather was CAVU and it was a relatively smooth ride and
Apple Valley was severe clear with light winds.

At Leonard's Airport restaurant, we did the usual "aviation hangar
flying", solved the world problems and moved on to the important stuff...
selecting an airport for our next Fly-In. More on the next Fly-In in a
follow-up email.

The guys who took pictures at breakfast, please forward them to Chris
Claborne so he put them into our website.

Coming back to San Diego around noon the clouds deck was starting to break
up, but San Diego Area stayed pretty hazy.

Best of clear skies and tailwinds,

Tony Tex
